Google's Chromecast HDMI-dongle has only been available in the UK for a little while, but the popular streaming gadget has just turned one. To celebrate there are some Chromecast deals to be had.
To celebrate the Chromecast's first birthday, Google is giving away 90 days of free Google Music All Access (who doesn't already have it) – even if you already have one. However, the deal is only available in the US so anyone in the UK will have to buy a new Chromecast from the Play store to get the freebie. "We built Chromecast to make it easier for people to enjoy their favorite entertainment from their phone, tablet or laptop on the largest screen in the house—the TV. Since Chromecast launched, people have hit the cast button more than 400 million times to enjoy their favorite sports, music, premium movies and TV shows," said Google.
The All Access offer is more like an extension of the free trial which normally runs for 30 days and customers will still have to pay £9.99 per month afterwards if they don't cancel. Read: Best free Chromecast apps you don't know about
The firm has also added support for new apps including WatchESPN, Pandora, Hulu Plus, HBO GO and PBS Kids. It also announced at its I/O conference that users can now mirror their Android device's screen on the TV.
If you don't fancy buying a Chromecast from Google then Vodafone is offering UK customers a discount of £5 if you have or buy a Red 4G contract. This means you can pick one up for just £25.
