We're probably just weeks away from the iPhone 6 launch and release date and we've got some interesting details from someone who has held the smartphone itself. See also: iPhone 6 release date, price, specs and new features: 9 September is latest launch date.
According to a trusted industry source who has held the iPhone 6 in their hand ahead of the launch, the flagship smartphone will look like a smaller version of the iPad mini. It will also feature an edge-to-edge display.
That means an end to the flat square sides which have been part of the iPhone design since the iPhone 4. The iPad mini has rounded edges which curved smoothly to the front panel. It also has smaller vertical bezels than previous iPads.

The latest rumours suggest the iPhone 6 will be announced at a 'big media event' on 9 September which is shortly after IFA 2014 where rival tech firms will unveil devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
It is thought that the iPhone 6 will launch in two models, each with a different screen size: 4.7in and 5.5in, which are both a significant increase on the current 4in size which has been used for all iPhone 5 editions.
There are various other bits of information floating around the net as the build-up to the launch continues. Some suggest the iPhone will finally get NFC and other features like wireless charging. These are possible but more likely is an Apple A8 processor, iOS 8 pre-installed and a better camera.
