Samsung surprised the audience at its Unpacked Episode 2 IFA 2014 event with a totally unexpected product - the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date UK
Samsung's Note 4 goes on sale in October, but the Note Edge won't go on sale until later this year - and then only in select markets. Unfortunately, Clove has announced that the Note Edge won't be coming to the UK at launch but the retailer is attempting to get hold of non-UK stock for those interested in the device. This information is from distribution channels rather than Samsung so we'll keep you up to date as we here more.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge price UK
Samsung has confirmed pricing but Clove has pegged the smartphone at £650 which is £75 more than the regular Note 4. The site does warn that an official price is still to be confirmed so we'll keep you up to date when we hear from Samsung. Also see 38 best Android phones 2014.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge specs
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which will be available in Charcoal Black and Frost White, features a 5.6in Quad HD (2560x1440) Super AMOLED screen but with a unique 160-pixel curved edge. Read: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Galaxy Note Edge comparison review.
"The Galaxy Note Edge’s unique curved Edge screen provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality – even when the cover is closed – all with the swipe of a thumb. Users can also receive notifications directly on the Edge Screen while watching videos without disturbing their viewing," said Samsung.
The spec includes a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32- or 64GB of storage. The Note Edge has a 16Mp rear camera with Smart OIS and a whopping 3.7Mp front camera with a f1.9 lens and Wide Selfie mode.
Weighing in at 174g the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge measures 151.3x82.4x8.3mm.
Connectivity includes 4G LTE Cat 6, 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi with MIMO (and the Download Booster seen in the Samsung Galaxy S5), NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and an IR blaster.
A 3000mAh lithium-ion battery features fast charging, allowing the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to go from zero- to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
