While I've been a lot more focused on Xbox Music for what I assume are obvious reasons, Microsoft has also been updating its Xbox Video apps a lot lately as well. And this week, the firm issued updates for the Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 versions of the app. Nothing major, but some steady progress.

Xbox Video for Windows 8.1

Xbox Video for Windows 8.1 is now bumped to version 2.6.283.0 and includes the following changes:

Personal videos and app resume. Resuming the app will now resume your personal videos so that you don't need to find and manually resume them as before.

Video thumbnails fix. Video thumbnails in your collection are no longer stretched.

Download manager improvements. The download manager now displays an approximate time for a download to complete. Supposedly: I don't see this anywhere.

Streaming icon for online content. Movies and TV shows in your collection now display a streaming icon when the video is not downloaded to this device. (I could have sworn that was already there.)

Other minor bug fixes. As always, the newest version includes some bug fixes.

Xbox Video for Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1

Xbox Video for Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1 is now bumped to version 1.6.284.0 and includes the following changes:

Downloads. There are improved status messages during content downloads. It's not clear to me what's really changed, to be honest.

Bug fixes. Microsoft fixed an issue that caused HD purchase to be unavailable for some content and provided further polish fixes and general improvements.
