"We are moving quickly to help more people experience the uncompromised Lumia technologies, third party apps, and Microsoft services that we deliver on our flagship products," said Jo Harlow, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Devices Group, "Lumia 530 underscores our commitment to making affordable smartphones for everyone, and introducing more people to the best of Microsoft."

Mobile Fun has the smartphone available for pre-order at £90 - matching the Moto E's UK price. However, Microsoft has confirmed that the Lumia 530 will cost from £60 in the UK.

The Lumia 530 will be available from 4 September in the UK from EE, Vodafone, O2, Three, Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse.

Nokia Lumia 530: Specs

As per usual, the Lumia 530 comes in various different colours (matching the Lumia 930) and this is one of Nokia's handsets which offers interchangeable covers.

The latest Window Phone 8.1 Lumia Cyan version is pre-loaded on the device and there's access to Microsoft services such as Skype and Office.

On the hardware side of things, the Lumia 530 has a 4in LCD screen (480 x 854). It's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and 512MB of RAM. There's just 4GB of internal storage but a microSD card slot allows users to add up to 128GB.

Like the rival Motorola Moto E, there's no support for 4G LTE networks or a front facing camera. The Lumia 530's rear facing camera is 5Mp and it has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
